I’ve been teaching IB Chemistry for the past nine years, working with both HL and SL students. My lessons focus on making difficult topics like energetics and equilibrium easier to apply in exam questions rather than simply memorising theory. I also enjoy helping students plan and refine their Internal Assessments so they feel confident throughout the course.

Chemistry has always been my favourite subject, especially organic chemistry, so I turned that interest into tutoring while finishing my postgraduate studies. I mainly teach IB students online and like using everyday examples to explain abstract ideas. We spend plenty of time working through past papers because that’s usually where students make the biggest improvements.

I currently tutor IB Chemistry alongside my work in an environmental laboratory. My background allows me to connect classroom topics with practical applications, which many students find helpful. I mostly work with IB HL students who want extra practice with calculations and data analysis, and I really enjoy seeing difficult questions start to make sense after a few sessions.

For more than a decade I have specialised in IB Chemistry, helping students prepare for examinations and strengthen their understanding of the syllabus. I tailor each lesson to the areas where support is needed most, whether that is stoichiometry, kinetics or spectroscopy. I started tutoring while at university and never really stopped because I enjoy the one-to-one side of teaching. Most of my students need help organising revision rather than learning everything again, so we work through exam-style questions together and chat about the mistakes that examiners often see.
